Before confirming your booking, please take the time to read the information below. It includes vital information regarding cancellation policies and the amenities and services available at the site, which will assist you with planning your holiday.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The following terms and conditions apply to all of our sites. Please click here for site specific information. 

We reserve the right to amend or make changes to our terms and conditions from time to time.

 

Payment: Full payment is taken at the time of booking, by credit/debit card or Paypal.

Cancellation/No-Show Policy: In the event of cancellations or no-shows, our refund policy is as follows;

  • No-Show: The full value of the booking is retained.

  • Cancellation: The minimum notice required for any pitch cancellation is currently 72 hours, this will be calculated from 12 noon on your arrival date.

  • Holiday Cancellation Insurance: We strongly advise you to take out the appropriate levels of cancellation insurance so you can have peace of mind that your costs will be covered, should you need to cancel your stay with us for any reason.  We recommend that guests have an appropriate level of insurance in place for their needs.

​

Arrival/Departure Procedures: Check in is from 1.30pm onwards and check out is at 11am on the day of your departure. 

We aim to provide you with sufficient information at the time of your booking to allow you to arrive and pitch up. If anything is unclear or we can help in any way, please contact us at the numbers provided above, or visit our reception area at Talla na Mara.

Toilets/Showers: Toilets and showers are available to access 24/7 at all of our sites. A code to access the facility is provided at the time of booking.

​

Fresh Water: Fresh water is available at all of our sites and is clearly marked.


Refuse Bin Facilities: Please use the designated bins for disposing of different types of rubbish and recycling. Please only use those marked as 'West Harris Trust'.

​

Chemical Toilet Disposal: There is a Chemical Disposal point at both Talla na Mara and Pairc Niseaboist (Seilebost School guests to use Talla na Mara). A four digit number to access the disposal point is provided at the time of booking. There is a hose provided by the Chemical Waste Disposal point for your convenience. We ask that guests use a green/organic chemical where possible, free from harsh chemicals and that you ensure only bodily waste and toilet paper are disposed of in the disposal point.

​

Grey Waste: Located at Talla na Mara – drain marked with yellow square and at Pairc Niseaboist – drain marked with a sign.

​

WIFI: Guest WIFI is available in the foyer area of Talla na Mara, please search for Free WIFI – Outer Hebrides. At this time, we are unable to provide WIFI to the pitches, however there is a 4G reception for both EE and Vodafone.

​

Café: The restaurant at Talla na Mara will open on Monday 3rd April 2023, seasonal opening applies. Please contact 01859 503905 or restaurant@tallanamara.co.uk for up to date opening hours. Booking is recommended.

​

Studios: There are several artist studios at Talla na Mara, offering high quality products to remind you of your visit to the Isle of Harris.

Tents: We are unable to accept tents at any of our sites.

 

Awnings: Only Factory Fitted Awnings are permitted for use and only at our Seilebost School site. Roof tents are permitted where the tent does not extend beyond the footprint of the vehicle.

 

Fire Safety: Smoking is not permitted at any of our sites.
Campfires, fireworks and Chinese lanterns are prohibited at all of our campsites.
Fire extinguishers are available within the site. Please familiarise yourself/group with their location.

​

Children: For safety purposes, please do not permit children to roam unattended on the site at any time. Parents are responsible for their children, and as such, children must be supervised at all times.

​

Dogs: Well behaved dogs are welcome. Dogs MUST be kept on a lead at all times. Owners are expected to clean up after their dogs, using the bins provided on site. 

Please remember that our sites neighbour crofting land, with sheep and cattle grazing nearby. We therefore suggest that you familiarise yourself with the Scottish Outdoor Access Code https://www.outdooraccess-scotland.scot/dog-owners 

​

Dogs are not permitted at our Seilebost site before the 15th of May.

​

Code of Conduct:  We expect our guests to look after and respect our sites and the surrounding area. As our sites neighbour residential areas, we would ask that you drive carefully while on site, adhering to speed limits. Please also ensure there is no excessive noise at any time and keep noise levels to a minimum after 10pm. The rest and quiet of the traditional island Sunday is very important to many people in our local community, and we would ask all our visitors to show respect for our local culture.

​

Our Local Community: Under the circumstances brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have gone to great measures to protect our staff, visitors and our local community. Local relationships are important to us and some are understandably apprehensive about the potential impacts of returning visitors; your thoughtfulness will help reassure them. Please show consideration for our staff, other visitors, and our local community. We would urge all our guests to respect social distancing measures and hygiene protocols when on site and when using local services, as well as in the wider community.

​

Complaints Procedure: We take all comments from guests seriously. In the unlikely event that you wish to make a complaint, you can contact us by telephone or email and we will respond. We will try to resolve any issues as soon as possible.

​

Data Protection: All the information taken at the time of booking is collected for the purpose of processing your booking. As part of our ongoing monitoring and to help us improve the services we provide, we may disclose your data to CampStead Ltd who may contact you inviting you to complete a questionnaire regarding your stay at our site.

OUR ONSITE FACILITIES

TALLA NA MARA

Pairc Niseaboist, Isle of Harris, HS3 3AE  (please note that our postcode is relatively new and therefore not all SatNav systems will find it. If you have problems, try entering HS3 3HP (about 2 miles further north of the site).

​

Talla na Mara is a new community owned venue in the heart of West Harris, and includes 3 small pitches with electrical hook ups at the edge of the grounds of the centre. The pitches are a short walk from Niseaboist beach and Macleod’s standing stone with stunning views across the Sound of Taransay.

​

Pitches are open all year round (closed over Christmas period) and have access to all of the facilities of the centre during opening hours (Mon-Sat). These include; a Café Bar, a gallery featuring work by local artists, open studios showcasing local arts and handmade chocolates and activities with events throughout the year. Please note, the Café and open studios are operated by others and may be subject to seasonal opening.

​

The site isn’t suitable for awnings, should you wish to make use of one, we would recommend our site at Seilebost School (open April-September).

​

We only accept motorhomes & caravans that are no more than 7.5 metres.

​

£32 per night (inc VAT)

PAIRC NISEABOIST

​

Pairc Niseaboist, Isle of Harris, HS3 3AE (please note that our postcode is relatively new and therefore not all SatNav systems will find it. If you have problems, try entering HS3 3HP (about 2 miles further north of the site). The Pairc Niseaboist Site is entered via its own access gate, just 200m further south than Talla na Mara. The Gate is locked with a padlock, the code for which is provided at the time of booking.

​

Perfectly located to allow full use of the facilities available at Talla Na Mara, our 7 new pitches boast stunning views across the Sound of Taransay. The idyllic Niseaboist beach and the Macleod’s stone are only a few minutes’ walk away.

​

Pitches are open April to October and have access to all of the facilities of the centre during opening hours (Mon-Sat). These include; a Café Bar, a gallery featuring work by local artists, open studios showcasing local arts and handmade chocolates and activities with events throughout the year.

SEILEBOST SCHOOL

​

Seilebost, Isle of Harris, HS3 3HP. Located on the A859, 11 miles south of Tarbert and 11 miles north of Leverburgh Pier. Turn off at the sign for Seilebost School.

​

Seilebost School hook-ups are an ideal base for your holiday in West Harris. The site is located within the old primary school grounds, with views across the machair and just a few minutes’ walk from Seilebost beach, with views to Luskentyre beach and the North Harris mountains beyond. Please note the playpark is not open at this time as is awaiting refurbishment.

 

Please be advised, this is a small and unmanned site. If you are looking for a more traditional campsite, we would advise using Horgabost campsite.

 

Pitches are open April to September.

 

Factory-fitted awnings are permitted at this site, however tents are not.

 

We only accept motorhomes & caravans that are no more than 7.5 metres.

​

Please note that on site facilities are shared with the studios and are open to the public.

 

Dogs are not allowed on site before 15th May due to lambing.

Please do not leave loose items within the bin enclosure. These can instead be recycled at the Council’s recycling skips located at Horgabost, Leverburgh and Urgha.
